Stephen Jeffery Sullivan, a native and resident of Wagarville, Ala., died Friday at his residence. He was 49.

He is survived his wife, Patricia Tarver Sullivan of Wagarville; one son, Donnie Sullivan of Wagarville; two daughters, Tracey Golden of Tampa, Fla. and Misty Sullivan of Montgomery; his father, Walter Lee Sullivan Jr. of Wagarville; two brothers, Riley Sullivan and Elton Sullivan of Wagarville; one sister, Linda Hyde of Wagarville; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, Ala. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Clearwater Cemetery. 

Leanora Damrell Niemeyer

MONTROSE -- Leanora Damrell Niemeyer, a member of St. James Episcopal Church, died Friday in a local health care facility. She was 91.

Mrs. Niemeyer, a native Mobilian, resided in Montrose.

Survivors include two sons, Carlton G. Niemeyer of Montrose and Kenneth E. Niemeyer of Point Clear; one sister, Adalade Malone of Fairhope; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are set for 4 p.m. today in Montrose Cemetery with Bayview Funeral Home of Fairhope directing.

The family requests that memorials may be made to a favorite charity. 

James Conrad Britton Sr.

MILLRY -- James Conrad Britton Sr., a teacher, died July 1 in a Mobile hospital. He was 63.

A native Alabamian, Britton resided in Millry. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea. He attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Britton of Millry; two sons, James C. Britton Jr. and Joe Britton, both of Millry; two daughters, Connie Gant of Millry and Kathy Britton of Mobile; one brother, T.C. Britton Jr. of Smiths, Ala.; one sister, Mavis McCain of Waynesboro, Miss.; and four granddaughters.

Services took place July 3 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church with interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Washington County. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro handled arrangements.

Marvin Alexander Harwell Jr.

BUTLER -- Marvin Alexander Harwell Jr. , who had worked with the American Can Corp., died Thursday in a Meridian, Miss., hospital. He was 74.

Harwell a native of Sumter County, resided in Butler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Harwell of Butler; two daughters, Ann Harwell Kelley of Butler and Kathy Harwell DeVane of Silas, Ala.; one son, Marvin Donnie Harwell of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Doris Harwell Mitchell of Ward, Ala.; one brother, James C. Harwell of York, Ala.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 tonight at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler, where services are set for 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will take place in Bogaloosa Cemetery in Needham, Ala. 

Rosa Lee Craig

Rosa Lee Craig, a native of Washington county and resident of Mobile, died July 3 at a local hospital. She was 81.

Mrs. Craig's survivors include one son, Lewis Taylor of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two nieces Elizabeth Nettles of Prichard and Lula Mae Page of California; and 5 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until noon Saturday at Little Rock Baptist Church in Prichard. Services will be held at noon Saturday at the church. Interment will be at the Rising Sun Cemetery in Mobile. Arrangements by Mosley Funeral Home in Prichard.

Aimee I. Kountz

Aimee I. Kountz, a former waitress, died Friday in a local hospital. She was 62.

A native and resident of Whistler, Mrs. Kountz had worked at Kreame Bar and Lott-A-Burger. She had also worked at Olin Mills Portrait Studios.

Survivors include her husband, Charles "Buddy" Kountz of Whistler; two daughters, Cathy Moran of Whistler and Cindy Kearley of Saraland; one brother, Jerry Thompson of Satsuma; one sister, Sandy Robertson of Darien, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements will be handled Radney Funeral Home in Saraland.

Catrina M. Burke

Catrina M. Burke, a native Mobilian and member of St. John AOH Church of God in Prichard, died Wednesday at the age of 28.

At church, Ms. Burke served on the Public Relations Board.

Survivors include one son, Justin Burke; her parents, Joyce and Thomas Burke Sr.; two sisters, Lashawn White of Lewes, Del., and Jessica M. Burke; two brothers, Thomas H. Burke, U.S. Marine Corps, Jacksonville, N.C., and Jason L. Burke; her grandmother, Dessie L. Abston; and her great-grandmother, Estell Abston.

Visitation will be at St. John AOH Church of God, 1620 W. Main St. in Prichard, on Monday from 11 a.m. until the noon service. Interment will take place in Gethsemane Cemetery.

LEANORA DAMRELL NIEMEYER 

MONTROSE - Leanora Damrell Niemeyer , a native of Mobile and a resident of Montrose, died Friday, July 10, 1998 at a local healthcare center.

She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Niemeyer was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Fairhope.

She is survived by two sons, Carlton Niemeyer of Montrose and Kenneth Niemeyer of Point Clear; a sister, Adalade Malone of Fairhope; two grandchildren and three great-grandchilden.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday from Montrose Cemetery.

OSCEOLA GREEN HAUGE 

SPANISH FORT - Osceola Green Hauge died Wednesday, July 9, 1998, at Westminster Village in Spanish Fort after a lengthy illness.

A native of Dixons Mill and Thomasville, she was well known for her musical talents and donation of time to various organizations, including Mercy Medical and Westminster Village.

As a youth Mrs. Hauge worked at Bedsole Dry Goods in Thomasville and performed with her three brothers and one sister at many different functions throughout Clark and Marengo Counties and had radio shows in Birmingham and Montgomery.

In the 1950s, Mrs. Hauge had radio programs in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Washington D.C., and Jacksonville, Fla. She and her husband, the late George E. Hauge, owned and operated Nippersink Lodge in Mentone.

She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Merle L. Green and Elizabeth A. Green, both of Mobile, Grace H. Carrier of Orange Park, Fla; and one brother-in-law, William Carrier II of Orange Park, Fla.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Alzheimer's Treatment and Research Center or a favorite charity. 

Barbara Bayles McKenzie

MONROEVILLE - Barbara Bayles McKenzie, a resident of Monroeville and a member of Eastwood Baptist Church, died Friday at her residence. She was 66.

She is survived by her husband, William McKenzie of Monroeville; two sons, Earl McKenzie of Brewton, Tim McKenzie of Monroeville; one sister, Carolyn Jaye of Mobile; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Eastwood Baptist Church with interment in Pineville Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. 

Sam Johnson

Sam Johnson, a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, died Friday in a local health care facility. He was 85.

Johnson was a Chicora, Miss., native and resident of Mobile.

Survivors include his wife, Eliza A. Johnson of Mobile; one daughter, Lula Gray of State Line, Miss.; one stepson, James Williams of Detroit, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home. Viewing will also be after 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 751 Texas St., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time. Interment will be in Cross Road Cemetery in Hurricane, Ala. 

Woodrow Finklea

Woodrow Finklea, a native of Camden and resident of New York, N.Y., died Tuesday in a New York hospital. He was 62.

Mr. Finklea worked in the garment industry in New York city.

He is survived by his two sons, Woodrow Finklea Jr. and Ronnie Finklea, both of Mobile; his mother, Lucille Finklea Sellers of Mobile; one brother, Bill Finklea of Mobile; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Reese Funeral Home in Prichard. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery.

Clinton Walter Ward

Clinton Walter Ward, a native and resident of Evergreen, died Friday at his residence. He was 74.

He is survived by his wife, Beaner Ward of Evergreen; three daughters, Judy Johnson of Brewton, Sarah Landon of Albany, Ga., and Victoria Bodiford of Navarre, Fla.; three brothers, William Ward of Evergreen, Levon Ward of Monroeville and H.W. Ward of Evergreen; six sisters, Earsie Delchamps of Evergreen, Willie Mae Willison of Gantt, Anna Merrill of Florala, Doris Conner of Savannah, Ga., Gladys Lancaster of Appleton and Josephine Powell of Mobile; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen. Interment will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Evergreen.

ROY CLIFFORD WHITE

SPANISH FORT - Roy Clifford White, a native of Mobile and a resident of Spanish Fort, died Saturday in a local hospital. He was 71.

White was the active secretary and a past master of Spanish Fort Masonic Lodge, a past master and past secretary of Warner Robbins, Ga., Masonic Lodge, and a 33rd degree Scottish Rite. He was the last surviving charter member of Old Spanish Fort Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol Stewart of Bay Minette, June Grider of Opelika; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bayview Funeral Home in Daphne. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Phil Wilson and Rev. Donald Berry officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Bay Minette. 

HAROLD HENDRIX

GULF SHORES - Harold Hendrix, a native of Goodway and a resident of Selma and Gulf Shores, died Saturday. He was 64.

Hendrix was a member of the First Baptist Church of Selma and the Selma Country Club.

His survivors include his wife, Ann O. Hendrix of Selma and Gulf Shores; three daughters, Angela H. DeLaitsch of Montgomery, Lisa A. Hendrix, Montgomery and Harriet H. Seal of Ridgeland, Miss.; two brothers, Jackson E. Hendrix of Prattville and William H. Hendrix of Atmore; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 12 noon Tuesday at Baldwin Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Shellbanks Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are by Baldwin Funeral Home in Gulf Shores.

HENRY HOWELL

FOLEY - Henry Howell, a resident of Foley, died Sunday at his residence. He was 85.

His survivors include his wife, Mary M. Howell of Foley; one daughter, Marilyn S. Williamson of Foley; one sister, Francis Laird of Mobile; and two grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Union Cemetery in Frisco City.

FREDRICK ORISON POSTLE

FAIRHOPE - Fredrick Orison Postle, a native of Cedar Rapids, Neb., and resident of Fairhope, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 80.

Postle was a graduate of Robertsdale High School where he was inducted into the sports hall of fame. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Fairhope United Methodist Church, Fairhope Yacht Club, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Abba Temple, American Legion and the Elks Lodge.

His survivors include his wife, Dorothy Postle of Fairhope; three daughters, Gayle Seamster of New Mexico, Barbara Ann Brown of Texas and Janice Carnley of Miss.; two sons, Lewis Fred Postle of Robertsdale and Wallace Robinson of Point Clear; one sister, Betty Greek of La.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Elks service will begin at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. A. B. Sawyer will officiate. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

SUMMERDALE - Kenneth Leo "Cooter" Merchant, a native of Robertsdale and resident of Summerdale, died Saturday. He was 66.

He is survived by his wife, Eunice Merchant of Summerdale; three sons, Keith Richard Merchant of Denham Springs, La., Scott Leo Merchant of Walker, La., and Raymond Joseph Merchant of Summerdale; three step daughters, Billie Jo Underwood of Foley, Norma Giles of Summerdale and June Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one step son, David Wilson of Summerdale; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Summerdale Assembly of God Church in Summerdale. Interment will be in Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale.

THELMA C. MCNEIL

GULF SHORES - Thelma C. McNeil, a resident of Gulf Shores, died Saturday at a Baldwin County hospital. She was 100.

Mrs. McNeil was a member of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Garris of Gulf Shores; one son, Roy McNeil Jr. of Silver Hills; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
